Four Reasons You Should Not Skip A Tire Rotation

As a car owner, there is so much routine maintenance that you need to keep up with that it can be easy to overlook some things or believe that certain routine maintenance is more important than others. One of these auto shop services include tire rotations. Not many car owners are aware of the importance of it. Here are four reasons it should not be skipped:

  1. Each Tire Wears Differently: The most important reason you need to get your tires rotated is because each tire wears differently. When you have the tires rotated, the tires are going to wear more evenly instead of getting extremely worn in one area before they need to be replaced. This means that if you get your tires rotated, you are going to get more use out of them so you don't have to replace them as often.
  2. Additional Services: While you are getting your tires rotated, your auto shop is probably going to provide additional services that will ensure that your next visit to an auto shop is even more prolonged. This includes rebalancing the tires, which is also going to help even out the wear.
  3. Drive Safer on the Road: When your tires have excessive uneven wear, it's going to be more dangerous to drive on the road. The reason being that it is going to pull your car to one side when you are driving, causing you to have to constant tire and steer your car back on track. This can be tiring and dangerous if you don't notice that you are shifting to the side of the road or into another lane.
  4. It's Affordable: The best news is that tire rotations are inexpensive. In fact, most auto shops provide them with your purchase of tires because they want to be sure that you are getting the most use out of them possible. It's important that you take advantage of this because it means that you are not paying a thing for the service plus you are prolonging the life of your tires, which just means additional savings on the cost of replacing tires, as well.

With these four reasons in mind, you can see why skipping out on a tire rotation is definitely not something you want to do. You should be doing this at least every 5,000 miles, so be sure that you are keeping track of this. Keeping a log for vehicle maintenance is the best way to ensure you are saving money and keeping your car in the best condition possible.
